While strolling through Galway City just past dark, we noticed a long queue of college-aged kids. We then realized that an entire block (or more) was shut down and there were exuberant people dancing around wearing headphones. This was a “silent disco,” where someone rents a pair of wireless headphones and a DJ spins various tunes to the listeners.
We decided to walk right through the middle of it, where we figured out by listening to the happy, singing voices, that “Twist and Shout” was playing. I took a short video that should give you a better idea of the scene. Needless to say, we were very entertained!
